Youth Function- Date Night

You know you're not single anymore...when a local church has a youth function and you let your kids go so that you and your wife can have a dinner date...You end up going to the same restaurant that you took your wife two years ago on your 2nd date...You can't believe all that has happened in your lives in just two years...You just know that you are grateful your wife said "yes" for you to even have a second date...Meanwhile you are happy to know that the restaurant has not changed their recipe for their awesome fried cheese grits balls!

Baseball Familiarity

You know you're not single anymore...when you know everyone at the ballfield by name...including parents...and umps!...You realize you spend more time per week at the ballfield than you do at home during waking hours...You also know that you have one more week until you and your family get their lives back...Until then you are glad you've only gained 5 lbs from eating your daily nachos, snickers bar, and soda drink!

Mopping

You know you're not single anymore...when you get kicked out of your house...so that your wife and daughter can mop the floors...When you were single you had the annual mopping of the floors day...and you only celebrated that day every other year....at least your mop looked as good as new for over five years...You figure why spend the time to clean a floor that will get dirty again within the week...Yet now you see the mop go at least weekly and sometimes even more frequently...at least you never can be ashamed of guests dropping by with a dirty floor!

Bragging

You know you're not single anymore...when you find yourself bragging about your family to perfect strangers...In fact, you'll tell just about anyone about how much your family means to you...You still wonder if the mailman really does care about the stories you share or if he's just being nice...In either case, you realize you will never be the same because of the three lives that now intertwine with yours.

Mother's Day

You know you're not single anymore...when even though you have teenager children now, the planning of Mother's Day still falls on you...The kids mean well, but they don't think through details like how long it takes to get somewhere, how much it will cost, is the activity something my wife would even want to do, etc...In the end, you give them enough hints that they think it's their original idea and then you give them all the credit...Meanwhile, you ask your wife what she really wants to do so that everyone is truly happy!...You used to just go and spend the day with your Mom and take her out to eat...that's when Mother's Day was a lot simpler to plan!
