Chores

You know you're not single anymore...when your wife leaves to do some errands and she leaves a list of chores to do for the kids...and at the bottom of the list is your list of chores to do...You tell the kids to keep the broom and mop out so that you can use it, too...That's one thing for sure you don't interfere in is how the household is run...and you don't mind everybody having their own job to do...You figure you do about one sixteenth the amount of house chores you used to do when you were single so you have a good deal in all of this!

Work Day

You know you're not single anymore...when you assign your kids to clean out the garage on a hot summer day...Of course your kids tell you they think they deserve a milkshake for doing work...You have no problem with the milkshake but where does the word "deserve" belong in the vernacular of doing assigned house chores?...In either case, they are having fun working together on a project and you enjoy checking in on them to see how they are getting along...Meanwhile you get some peace and quiet to do other work that needs to be done.

Strange Noise

You know you're not single anymore...when your son wakes you up from your Sunday afternoon nap to say there's a strange noise coming from the lawn mower....You would love to tell him to wait and mow later when you are fully awake, but you realize how wonderful it is for your son to willingly mow the yard without telling him...In either case you wonder if your son has run over any number of objects he may have left in the yard, including baseballs, tools, or who knows what?!?...You ask him to mow in front of you so that you can hear the noise and sure enough a clunk of grass flies out of the mower...He sheepishly apologized for waking you up and you head back for the rest of your nap....except you can't go back to sleep...Oh well, many more things left to do for the rest of the day!

New Ministry

You know you're not single anymore...when you become a Pastor of a church, it simultaneously makes your wife a "Pastor's wife" and your children "PK's"...Your son has specifically been saying he cannot wait for this moment to become a "PK"...You've told him that the designation of "PK" means a lot more responsibility...instead he's excited that he can go on all the cool youth trips...In either case, you know that your family is in for a new experience living in the "ministry bubble" and you hope they will be able to adapt gracefully.
