New Glasses

You know you're not single anymore...when you are willing to drive 2 hours one way to get your son the type of glasses he wants to wear...It's not the glasses as important as the time together you have with him on the trip...You get caught up on all his current dreams and wants at this stage in his life...You continually realize how quickly he is growing up and you do every thing you can to savor and remember these times together with him.

Vacation Plans

You know you're not single anymore...when you actually plan a vacation in advance and you are looking forward to it...There really was not a need to take a vacation when you were single but now you know you have to take a vacation!...You realize you need that time away from the normal to have some special memories with your family...Of course you also realize you start saving for your vacation the day you get back from the previous year's vacation!

Tired

You know you're not single anymore...when you wake up about as tired as you do when you go to sleep...you thought that taking care of a house by yourself was a lot of work...but with kids nothing compares with how much time and energy you run around going from one activity to another for them...You realize that when your kids spend the night at their friends' homes, then you actually get to catch your breath for one night...but then it starts all over again the next day...You figure the only real rest you'll get is when your kids head off to college...of course then you will not have any money to enjoy since you will be paying for their college!

SUV

You know you're not single anymore...when you drive an SUV to work...You enjoyed your truck, but now you find that you need something a little bigger...granted you want to eventually get a bigger truck...but for now as both kids are going with you to your work, you figure the truck just does not cut it.

Late night sports

You know you're not single anymore...when during your children's sports seasons you do not get to eat dinner until after 9 PM...Meanwhile your entire family routine is disrupted since the kids have to go to immediate bed after dinner...You think this means more time with your wife, but she is just as wiped out and starts getting ready for bed...So you and your dog stay up and do a little work and reading...which in the quiet house is about as close to the old days as it gets...At least you get to run out and spend another day on the field with your family for three more days this week!
