Glimpse of the Future

You know you're not single anymore...when your daughter has a school function so you, your wife, and your son go out to eat and your son says this is glimpse of what it's going to be like when your daughter goes off to college in two years...you turn to him and remind him in two years he will be having a summer job, too, and that it would really be just you and your wife at dinner!...He quickly says, "oh, that's right."...You really could have gone all day without the reminder how fast they grow up through this stage in their lives...Instead you'll take one day at a time with both kids so that you can treasure the moments!...and hopefully slow the world down!

Visitors

You know you're not single anymore...when friends from your hometown come through to visit you and all you talk about is your family...You realize there is nothing about you that is isolated from the events of your family...You know that you are blessed beyond measure and you look forward to each new adventure as it happens each day...You just pray you are the husband and Dad that your family needs ... and that each day you become a better husband and Dad.

Radio time

You know you're not single anymore...when your wife gets interviewed on national radio and you realize how proud you are of her...You love being her manager to promote her book and speaking career...but moreover, you love that you come home to her every evening...You don't mind doing errands for her or doing projects around the house that she wants done...You feel that in serving her you give back in a small way a little of the deep appreciation you have for her...in fact you feel you will always owe her for taking a chance with you and saying "yes" on your first date...You know that her happiness is all you desire and you want her to live her dreams to the fullest capacity!

Guy's Trip

You know you're not single anymore...when you get to take your son on a week-long guy's retreat...You will start with football camp at Auburn University, your son's favorite college...then you will go to Pensacola, Florida for two days and nights camping right off the beach...finally, you will go to your family land in Mississippi, for two more days and nights camping in the middle of a field...This all began when your son says that you two should have a yearly trip to plan and look forward to...You consider that this is the stuff that life-long memories are made and you planned this trip for him nearly six months ago...You just hope for great weather to last for one week!

Typing Lessons

You know you're not single anymore...when you sit down to teach your son how to type so that he will not ask you to type his papers next year at school...You figure everyone needs to know how to type faster than two-finger pecking in this day and age...You are also not wanting your son to take five times as long to write a paper since you are not going to type all of his papers anyways...You are glad he is now familiar with the home keys and you are looking forward to when the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog is an expression in your household!
