Yard work

You know you're not single anymore...when you kids literally have an argument over who can mow the yard this week...You think you'll milk this as long as you can....Their motivations for mowing the yard are completely different...Your son likes the feeling of "driving" the lawn mower...Your daughter likes that she can get an even tan by going forward and back down the yard...In either case you figure one day you'll be doing the yard work again but let them have it for now!

Breakfast for Dad

You know you're not single anymore...when you wake up at 5:45 A.M. and you hear noises in the kitchen and you go in and find your son making breakfast...just for you he says...He makes bacon and eggs mixed with cheese and ham...and then makes two chocolate chip pancakes in addition...he says his goal is so you don't get hungry midway in the morning like when you eat your bowl of cereal every day...He does a great job and you think you son is going to make a great husband and father if he stays on this path!

Material Blessings

You know you're not single anymore...when your children tell you all the stuff they will get for themselves one day and you're thinking either they will be independently wealthy...or they do not plan to have children!...You now know that a lot of future material blessings are far removed from your own personal goals since so much of your life is invested into your kids...and you figure when they are grown, you'll eventually start investing in their kids, too!...In the end, you're not bothered at all...having kids in your life far outweighs any material blessing you could ever dream of having!

Creek

You know you're not single anymore...when your son asks you to go to the creek in your yard to go wading...You realize you haven't played anywhere near a creek for about thirty years...Yet you end up building a good size dam and tearing it up again...You also enjoyed almost dunking your son because he's still at the age where he can't quite get you yet...You just make sure he's clean with a spraying from the garden hose before going back inside to change clothes to keep your wife from frowning on him...and you!
