Parking Lot

You know you're not single anymore...when you, your wife, and your son hang out in a parking lot on a Friday night for 70 minutes waiting for your daughter to close for her job...You figure there's no point in driving home and coming right back...You realize your son is a potential comedian and keeps you and your wife in stitches...During dinner that night, you get a glimpse of what your family will do when your daughter goes off to college...but before that becomes a reality, you'll take this time as family time and soon enough your daughter joins the rest of your family for the evening.

Walgreens Date

You know you're not single anymore...when you get to take your wife on a "Walgreens Date"...You figure some of the best time hanging out with your wife is on shopping errands...Not that you don't really take your wife on dates, but you look forward to some type of getaway time each day just to spend some time with her...Plus this time you find you get some good buys on hair products while hanging out with her.

Summer Begins

You know you're not single anymore...when the first thing you do when summer begins is to take your son to a water hole that has cliffs to jump from...Of course you hate heights so you end up watching your son jump 30 feet...You are just glad cliff jumping was not a prerequisite to joining this family...You do enjoy a lazy afternoon and are looking forward to a great summer with your family!

Time Together

You know you're not single anymore...when you find your afternoons and evenings balancing time between the three most important people in your life...You always give your wife the first 15 minutes when you get home...Then you give your son 20 minutes by throwing baseball (or football depending on the season)...Your daughter already spent the 30 minute ride home with you but you usually have to go pick up something at Walmart at some point so she goes with you...Usually your family all settles down to dinner together and one episode of a tv serial...Your son does try to get your attention by wanting to hang out in the office with you while you work or tries to get you to watch Netflix with him...When the kids are in bed you find an hour for yourself but you soon put work away and spend another hour hanging out with your wife...You both figure that in five years you'll have an empty nest to spend the entire afternoon together so you cherish the moments you have with your children while they are still with you.

Travel Expenses

You know you're not single anymore...when you travel 30 minutes to your work and 30 minutes back and then take your daughter 30 minutes to her work and then 30 minutes back home and then one hour later you travel 30 minutes to pick her up and 30 minutes back home...You realize you have to fill up your car with a tank of gasoline and you also realize your daughter is making minimal wage even though you travel the distance for her...But for her to have the satisfaction that she is working and earning some money is worth it all!

Mud Party

You know you're not single anymore...when an instantaneous party of seven kids jumps into the creek in your yard and has a mud fight...In the end, you are not sure which kids are yours because there is mud everywhere...You eventually line everyone up with the water hose to determine who belongs to who...You donate several old towels to the other five kids (the children of friends of your wife who are now friends of you) so that they can get home dry...You are reminded that good clean fun may still have some dirt and mud involved!
