Weekend Visit

You know you're not single anymore...when your wife and son go on a weekend visit to your mom's home...You are thinking if there are any embarrassing baby pictures that haven't been revealed yet to your wife...Meanwhile your son explores all the cool stuff you used to own when you were a kid...whatever hasn't been given away to Goodwill or sold...You realize you are very blessed that your mom and wife are getting along great...You also know that your mom has become both a mother-in-law and a grandmother all within the same year so she's adjusting to new roles, too...which is fun to watch her adapt quickly, too.

Hair Clippers

You know you're not single anymore...when you buy hair clippers for your son's hair...You know he gets his hair buzzed off to a level 2 and you're thinking why are you paying $10 for a haircut when you can do that yourself to him...Your wife is thinking that you will never touch those clippers to your son's hair since he does need to go out in public at times...Meanwhile, you wonder how long will it take before your wife wonders if she can cut your own hair with the clippers...You think you made an incredible investment in the clippers or maybe the worst hair mistake ever!

Registration

You know you're not single anymore...when you have to register your kids for classes for this fall...You realize that as you see the course descriptions, you're thinking about which teacher will probably require the most at home projects that you will end up helping your kids by running to Walmart at the last minute...At least you know you'll be able to help your kids in the subject you teach, but then this is the first time you've had to consider someone else teaching your kids in your subject matter...This could get interesting!

Introductions

You know you're not single anymore...when you introduce yourself to a group you get to say "and I am married with two kids" as opposed to "I am the proud owner of a yellow lab"...Not that you don't recognize your beloved dog anymore in introductions, but you do make sure you mention your wife and kids _first_...You do realize you don't like to use the word "step" in referring to your kids for they are much closer to you than the name "step" might potentially imply...but to be fair you do sometimes refer to your dog as your son's (slightly) younger brother!

Leftovers

You know you're not single anymore...when there are leftovers in the fridge...because when you were single, you didn't cook so there was nothing to have left over...however, your wife cooks such wonderful meals each night (no joke), you find yourself not eating the leftovers...so a new revelation has come your way...You announce that you are in charge of dinner one night...Your wife was excited until she found out that night you warmed up the leftovers!...Your wife is only slightly amused...You say to her that having her leftovers are much better than your first attempts...She says "true" and dinner is served.

Driver's Education

You know you're not single anymore...when your daughter starts Driver's Ed tomorrow....Just consider that a public service announcement for the general population...Meanwhile you realize you're going to be her main driving instructor at home because everyday she'll be going to school with you...that's one hour a day of driver's instruction...You wonder if it's time to stock up on herbal tea to relax you during the drive!...Meanwhile your son looks at every accident on the side of the road, nudges his sister, and says "that probably was caused by a driver's ed student!"...Thanks, son, for the encouraging words!
