Giving Blood

You know you're not single anymore...when you go to give blood, but they say you can't because your blood pressure is too high...you wonder if being a Pastor, a teacher, a husband, and on top of all this a father of two teenagers may contribute to high blood pressure...of course you ask what your bp is after all and they say 112 over 76...You think you might have heard them wrong but they say that your systolic must be less than 100...you then realize that you would have to be asleep in order to donate blood at this center!...In either case, you have been motivated to eat less salty foods and do more exercise to get your bp better!

Empty Wallet

You know you're not single anymore...when you have to borrow lunch money cash from a co-worker because your kids took the rest of your cash...Unfortunately, schools do not accept debit cards, so it is important to have at least a few dollars cash every day...Yet now that your daughter is driving on her own, you find yourself making sure she always has emergency money...and you realize that you gave your last bit of emergency money to her!...You send her to Ingles after school to buy gum and get cash back so that you can return your co-worker's money and you can confidently buy school lunches again!

Back to School Shopping

You know you're not single anymore...when back to school shopping is an event in your home...You used to avoid the weekends with the mad dash to get school supplies and clothes...Instead, now you are trying to find the best sales before you spend $800 on new outfits, shoes, and supplies...You are a teacher, but even you start questioning why your child needs three notebooks for one class...meanwhile you wonder what happened to the binders you bought your kids last year....Still you realize this is a passing phase and one day your kids will be buying college supplies and you'll be wondering where the time went by!
