Fast and Furious

You know you're not single anymore... when in three days you and your son watch all seven of the Fast and the Furious movie franchise while on your Guy's Week...Your son even says how sad the last movie is at the end!...Meanwhile, your son decides that go-kart racing is more his style than putt-putt and you get to race a few laps around the track...You're just glad he's got a few years on him before he legally can drive because he's inspired to street race right now!

New Experiences

You know you're not single anymore...when you go swimming in the ocean, snorkeling in the bay, gokart racing, and parasailing all in the same day....You figure your son would like to spread out the fun but he has never snorkeled or parasailed before and he was excited to have the experience...In either case when the sun set he was wiped out and has since gone to sleep...Meanwhile you are happy he has had a great fun trip and that you were given the opportunity to  experience this time with him.

Football Camp

You know you're not single anymore...when you drop your son off at a football camp at a large university and you ask him whether he would prefer you to wait with him for the camp to start in two hours or that you should leave him...he thinks for a second and says "whatever you want"...you figure that is his way of saying "please stay but I don't want you to know I want you to stay."...You wait with him for two hours and then they call the campers back...With a bunch of middle school football players present you know the unwritten code is to not show any affection to your son before leaving him...so you give him a simple pat on the back and say "Have a great time!"...He seems to be fine with that and runs off to do his drills at the camp.

Throwing Ball

You know you're not single anymore...when your son asks you to throw the baseball with him and then with a wink he says "you know that throwing ball with you is one of the top five things I enjoy doing with you"...Of course you respond with "what are the other four?"...he says "I haven't thought through that all the way!"...Fair enough...But you do hope he will always fondly remember the time you spent with him.
